We bring a sense of adventure to everything we do. We love the product we sell so much that if it was legal to marry it, we would. We work hard, but play harder (this may or may not involve tequila). We are an energetic, fun-loving retailer that gets you...finally!
RUN. TRAIN. HIKE. YOGA. PLAY.
My biggest professional achievement was opening up Play! I also love pushing myself physically beyond what I thought was capable – that itself is a great achievement. I like to run, bike, spend time in nature, go to the gym and sometimes binge watch my favourite shows on Netflix.
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
Opening and operating Play of course is one of my biggest achievements! On my days off I love to work out, read and snuggle with my kitties.
“Smooth seas make poor sailors.”
Being a mother to my two amazing and beautiful girls is the biggest achievement of my life! I'm also happy to have moved my family back to our home in the Okanagan from Calgary. I love spending time with my family, especially my baby girls. I enjoy hot yoga, meal prepping and going for drives with my husband.
“That's life... you never end up where you thought you would be. It's ok, new dreams will be created.”
My biggest achievement to date is running & finishing the Fat Dog 120 mile mountain race. My day off typically starts off with coffee, breakfast and a good amount of running, biking, hiking, climbing or all of those things may take up my day. I like to lead a healthy & active lifestyle. I’ve never been one to define myself by the thoughts or achievements of others as I find enough inspiration in discovering how far I can push myself and remain focused and mindful of my own existence.
My biggest achievement is overcoming a severe injury into a positive circumstance - allowing me to appreciate living a healthy, active lifestyle. I love to stay busy during my spare time, whether it's spending time with friends, working out, hiking or doing yoga.
“Not everyday is good, but there is something good in every day”
Running my first 21.1k(half marathon) would have to be one of my biggest achievements. I really love hanging out with my friends and family on my days off. Also a big passion of mine is to play basketball, workout at the gym, and spend time outdoors. I like to watch 1 Pug Life and Trailer Park Boys. I enjoy reading Marvel and DC comics too.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover” “Way she goes.”
My biggest achievement is winning gold medal in the 2016 District Science Fair and winning the UBCO Inspired Science award. When I'm not working or going to school, I really enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing and hanging out with my friends.
“If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything."
Biggest achievement that's a tough one there are many… With 3 kids and 5 grand-kids all happy and healthy being able to be fit and active with them is an achievement I cherish.
The races I have done number in the 100's over 40 years of running, with 18 Ironmans, Canadian Death Race, Pike Peak Ultra, great wall in China, Boston, NY city, Chicago and London marathon. If you were to ask what I’m most proud of I would have to say being instrumental in getting parkrun to Canada it without a doubt is a continued source of joy and inspiration.
My biggest achievement is running on the UBCO Cross Country team and completing a half marathon. On my days off, currently I do homework and run as much as I have time for.
“What is the point in trying if you don’t give it your all?"
My biggest accomplishment is starting to run and continuing to train for longer distances. On my days off I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, yoga, being outdoors, and camping.
“It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up”
My biggest achievement so far would have to be when I received a scholarship to play softball in the USA. In my free time I like to workout, drink coffee, and pet as many dogs as I possibly can.
Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out alive!
My biggest achievement was in 2017 when I was the top ski athlete in BC, beating both the male and female category by achieving the highest points and best finishes. On my day off, I like to go to the gym and lift weights for fun. I also enjoy casually going up to the hill and having a leisure ski day with my friends. Skiing is a really fun way to get my mind calm and it's something I really love to do.
"live everyday like it's your last, take chances, do what you want & have fun because you're never going to have this life again."
My biggest accomplishment has to be moving from the UK to Canada, and achieving Canadian permanent residency. The whole process took around 5 years to do, and a whole lot of paperwork!
Outside of my time at Play, I am a personal trainer, so you’ll probably bump into me in a gym in Kelowna somewhere. I try and spend as much of my time off outside, whether it be exploring a mountain on my skis in the winter or on the lake/in a forest somewhere the rest of the year. I also enjoy my own personal time in the gym, where I am a regular at Kelowna Crossfit.
